A Little bit about me...

I grew up in a family of artists with my two younger sisters always creating amazing work, (in fact, you may have seen one of my sister’s work already as Ellen is the creator behind Pizza Cake Comics!) so suffice to say I was surrounded by artistic talent, but like many things in life, I got away from it when I got older.

Flash forward to 2016 when my husband and I opened a little bistro called Pascalice’s Bistro, in my hometown of Greenwood, Nova Scotia. My husband is an AMAZING CHEF and he wowed the local community with his Swiss style cuisine (If you haven’t tried a rösti yet, you better find one STAT!) So we had the delicious food covered but something else was missing. I looked around at our bare walls and figured I could possibly solve this drab issue by creating something to hang on them. But what?…

Oh look! Michaels is having a sale on acrylic paints and canvases. HOW CONVEINENT!

And hence my Michaels addiction/painting career was born and I was quickly rediscovering my love of art. I adorned our little space with many MANY colorful paintings of quirky houses and landscapes that made me light up with joy. I soon realized that others enjoyed my pieces too and wanted to acquire them for their own walls. Over our 5 year period of being restaurant owners, I have sold numerous paintings and worked on various commissions for our customers.

People have often compared my style with the amazing work of Dr. Seuss himself, which is so lovely and quite honestly, made sense as he was always a HUGE influence in my childhood.

I have had the immense pleasure of having my paintings showcased in local galleries and other local establishments here in Nova Scotia over the last few years. My husband and I also hosted a couple of ITTY BITTY art shows in our bistro to show off the amazing local talent and connect with the artists here in the Annapolis Valley. In fact, I am a proud member of a wonderful artist based non profit organization that’s located right here in Greenwood called 7arts.

In 2021 I purchased an iPad Pro to broaden my artistic world and tried my hand at digital art. Creating digital content is a whole new world for me but one that I am more than happy to keep exploring. It brings me joy taking people, places, and pets and transporting them into my magical world of art. Creating people and their homes in my own unique style is immensely fulfilling and seeing (or reading) someone's reaction to receiving a personalized picture I made for them is so deeply gratifying. I feel truly blessed that I have been able to share my art with others and that I have the opportunity to create special pieces for awesome people, like you!
